My Areas of Speciality
Because of my previous work, my contacts and my drive to facilitate people to be happier in their workplace; I devote most of my working time to helping companies to facilitate their individual leaders and teams to function more effectively.
My specialisms have evolved to include: coaching individuals, facilitating teams, training in communication, influence and presentation skills and designing bespoke training resources for use by internal trainers within organisations.
More and more I am helping organizations to develop their leaders and subject-matter experts to become teachers within their businesses. I am often asked to teach leaders and internal L&D colleagues the skills of facilitation and coaching and to support their on-going development in these roles. It’s great to be part of an organisation’s development in adopting a different way of sharing information and motivating their people.
Sometimes it’s my name on the invoice; sometimes I work as an associate representing another provider – include: FMCG, pharmaceuticals, energy services, financial services, property services, manufacturing, virtual and some public sector. I work in both the UK and Europe and frequently further afield.

Partnering with The Coaching Academy
When I started working in this field in 2000 I formed a relationship with a coaching training company, The Coaching Academy.
We still work closely together today and with them I’ve created training programmes on personal coaching, corporate and executive coaching, marketing, NLP and neuroscience for coaches. I also deliver these training programmes plus mentor, supervise and coach their students.
We have touchpoints with at least 5,000 people interested in personal development every year; that’s a massive influence over the course of 20 years. It’s been a privilege to introduce and nurture that many people’s personal and professional development and to be able to continue to do that.
What backs up my experience are the qualifications I’ve got in my toolkit. From my previous career I have qualifications in Business (Undergrad), Marketing (Postgrad). And since starting this type of work I’ve gained Professional and Postgrad academic qualifications in NLP, Coaching, Training, Psychology, Psychometrics, Supervision and Neuroscience. Like every great instinctive cook does, I combine these ingredients in the right amounts for each client and assignment.

Intelligence and Humour
If that’s the intelligence bit, what supports the humour part of how I describe myself?
Well, in addition to the humour ‘frame’ I apply for myself, I have studied and performed stand up comedy and improvisation and am currently studying writing sitcoms. I’ve found humour to be a great rapport builder, a vital skill in the work that I do. It helps to use it to land learning points in groups and it’s a wonderful way to change our state and help us to change perspective.
I love the quote attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt…
